This was a nice surprise. It was a wonderful dining experience. One of my pet peeves about Mexican food is the regional trend today to have all of the food under seasoned or rather bland. That was certainly not the case here. Everything was deliciously seasoned. Probably the best Mexican food I've had in quite some time. There's a great atmosphere inside. The chips were nice and warm and crispy. The salsa was quite good. I had a burrito that was stuffed with pork served with beans and a lot of garnish on the side. Rather than the bland meet I have gotten recently and most Mexican restaurants this was seasoned well and tasted great. If I hadn't been driving I would have been tempted to try some of their drinks. Service was wonderful. I had the burrito carnitas. It was a tough decision because the menu is quite extensive and tempting. Definitely on my list of places to return to.

I'm such a picky eater and PLEASE THIS IS FREAKING GREAT! EL PUERTO HAS amazing food, see pics. Sorry but we were hungry and I forgot to take pics first. But I'm just saying if it looks this good half eaten then you know it was great before you jumped into the plate with both feet. If you don't get there before 6:30 pm plan on a pretty long wait. We got there at 5:30 and it filled up with a line out of the door before we left about and hour later (on a Monday 2 days before Christmas). The chips are super thin and crispy just as I like them, and the salsa was unbelievable not to spicy hot but spicy enough great flavor! We also had frozen margaritas (Raspberry, Peach, and regular) OMGOODNESS great flavor and I got farkled up on a small..... But they weren't to strong with liquor, I hate that when they are. I don't know who left the bad reviews but they are surely confused about which place they was at, because it wasn't El Puerto in Clinton MO. There is another Mexican restaurant near by and if you like bland, with no seasoning then go to the other restaurant. This restaurant has plenty of great seasoning and the wait staff is great also, very busy and quick but always kind and attentive to your order.

Great food served hot at good prices served by friendly hardworking staff. Sunday dinner meal for our party of six. Restaurant was busy, staff was moving quickly; food came out quickly and without a single deficiency. Entrees ordered: Camerones a la diabla, Angels enchiladas, chicken tacos, seafood fajita, tilapia el puerto, and fajita hawaiiana. Seafood fajita - cooked perfectly, very generous amount of seafood, and very flavorful. Cooked just right, each ingredient’s flavor shone independently rather than becoming a single taste mash of stuff. Vegetables really stood out, they had the right amount of body; not overcooked where they’d be moosh like so many places cook them. Angels enchiladas - chicken in it was amazing, one of my 10 year old granddaughters kept eating, no worrying about saving room for dessert; it was that good. Chicken tacos - another great entree, she really loved the sauce noting it was limey, but not perfumey (her words, in other words it had just the right amount of lime flavo). Camerones a la diabla - the shrimp were extremely tasty in the “spicy” red sauce. Also, the red sauce really made the rice that comes with the dish very tasty. One gripe, the “spicy” red sauce is definitely not spicy. It is a great tasting sauce, just not spicy. All six dishes were enjoyed by our group. We did share a bit and can say for sure, every dish had its own flavor which we found particularly surprising because the restaurant’s menu is rather large. Based on our experience we expect a place with a huge menu to have food that mostly tastes the same as various components get used repeatedly throughout the menu; El Puerto was not like that, great unique flavors for each dish.

9/9/24 Visiting my sister and stopped in for dinner. For a Monday night they was extremely busy for 630pm. Had to sit outside on the patio. Food was ok. They do a good chili reno. Iv had many places but they do it good! I paid for 3 adults. Price was great. Service was fine. Someone was always asking if we need anything. Never had issues considering we was outside and no one else was.

We first tried El Puerto 5 years ago and absolutely love it. Their prices are really reasonable to this day. Service is great. Food is awsome. Better than any Mexican restaurant in the Springfield Missouri area. We live in Republic Missouri and drive 2 times a year to eat there. Trying to convince them to open a place here.

Awesome little spot for some tasty authentic Mexican food! I figured it would be good but I was genuinely surprised by how nice this place was. The service was top notch, our waiter stopped by at least 6 times in the short time we were there! Food was fast and delicious! Highly recommend
